Continuing from 2021, Chugai has concluded an official top partner agreement with the Japan Wheelchair Softball Association (JWSA) to sponsor a nationwide wheelchair softball event in 2023.

Wheelchair softball is a sport that can be enjoyed by anyone regardless of disability or age, and the purpose of the event is to introduce the sport to as many people as possible and to expand the scope of the sport.

Chugai Presents Nationwide Wheelchair Softball Experience Event
Period: May - December 2023
Venue: 8 locations throughout Japan (Gunma, Osaka, Aomori, Hokkaido, Shizuoka, Saitama, Fukuoka, Tokyo)
Participants: Total 216 people (76 people with disabilities, 140 people without disabilities)

Chugai employees and their families also participated in the hands-on event in Gunma Prefecture, where they actually experienced the fun of wheelchair softball while receiving direct instruction from a Japanese national team player.

Chugai will continue to support the popularization of wheelchair softball, a universal sport that can be enjoyed by everyone regardless of disability, with the aim of realizing an inclusive society.
