Basic Approach

Fulfilling Corporate Responsibility through Appropriate Information Disclosure and Thorough Risk Management

Chugai conducts innovation-oriented management to achieve its mission under a unique business model in which Chugai is a member of the Roche Group while maintaining its managerial autonomy and independence as a publicly listed company. To increase its corporate value, Chugai continuously reviews and improves its corporate governance based not only on governance structures and systems, but also on an awareness of the importance of enhancing their effectiveness.

In addition, we will strive to ensure the trust of the market by disclosing appropriate information. At the same time, we will fulfill our corporate responsibilities by thoroughly managing risks both internally and externally for all the different sorts of information a company holds, including personal information.

Initiatives

Risk Management

Chugai has implemented an ERM framework that visualizes all risks associated with its business activities. Based on our Risk Appetite Statement, we identify risks from strategy to operations, respond with plans, and evaluate and report on them.

We have also developed our own unique system that utilizes IT for efficient risk management. This enables centralized management of information and efficient monitoring.

Dialogue with Stakeholders

To fulfill its basic management policy of creating shared value, Chugai believes that dialogue with shareholders, investors, and other multi-stakeholder is essential.

IT Security and Information Management

To promote digital transformation, it is essential to address risks such as data leaks, intellectual property infringement, and privacy violations. In order to become a leading company in cybersecurity, we have formulated the “CHUGAI CYBER SECURITY VISION 2030.” We are working on IT security and information management from three perspectives: “organizational management,” “people and culture,” and “technology.”
