The Chugai Group participated in the Roche Children's Walk 2021 charity event held globally by Roche and raised funds. This year marks the 18th time since the first "AIDS Walk" was held in 2003, and many sites from Roche groups around the world participated in this event.

As a result of the fund-raising activities, total amount of 750,000 yen from 2,081 people of the Chugai Group was collected. And the company donated the same amount as the donation amount from employees as "Matching Gift Method". A half of the total of 1.5 million yen was donated through Roche to support orphans in the Republic of Malawi and Ethiopia in Africa and the other half was donated to “Taragi Kids Circle" in Japan.

The Taragi Kids Circle, which is active in Hitoyoshi City, Kumamoto Prefecture, is a childcare circle established in 2001. After a 10-year hiatus, it resumed with the Disaster in 2020 Kyushu Floods that took place in July 2020.

With the cooperation of local residents and student volunteers, their activities include regular based temporary care of children, distribution of lunch boxes at "the Children's Cafeteria" as well as distribution of relief supplies to meeting places for the elderly people and disaster-affected areas.
It seems that the children are gradually smiling again.

Ms. Yoshimura is the representative of the Taragi Kids Circle. She said, “It is said that it will take us 10 years to recover from the disaster. However, we would like to continue to take care of the hearts of children and the elderly until we can recover from the disaster, and we will continue to support people in need of relief supplies so that they can live with peace of mind.”
