Chugai Pharmaceutical’s CHUGAI INNOVATION DAY 2024 was hosted on November 25 (Mon) and 26 (Tue), 2024. This was the fifth hosting of the CHUGAI INNOVATION DAY, and the concept was “Working Together to Paint a Picture of the Future of Healthcare.” Based on this concept, leading figures from various fields held lectures and discussions on themes such as generative AI, quantum computing, personalized healthcare, and patient-centric drug discovery, while workshops and poster presentations were also held across the two days. More than 3,000 people were in attendance, including individuals from pharmaceutical, life science, and technology companies, and academia, as well as students.

Workshops

Around 30 individuals from wide-ranging backgrounds, from students through to managers, engaged in a lively exchange of opinions on healthcare innovation with a focus on two main technologies: generative AI and quantum computing. During the discussions, the participants shared numerous ideas on the healthcare challenges they felt needed most attention and ideal solutions for simple health maintenance. Participants were separated into groups and presented their summaries on stage, before the presentations were reviewed by the lecturers. Enthusiastic discussions continued right until the end of the allocated time and the workshops were a huge success.

Poster sessions

These poster presentations introduced the company’s initiatives aimed at innovation. Company employees introduced their projects on 12 different themes, including drug discovery research, clinical development, production, and marketing, explaining how they are aiming to provide value to patients.
The audience also took part in the presentations, and they turned out to be excellent opportunities to promote collaboration within the healthcare industry.

Participants commented on how they could see Chugai Pharmaceutical’s DX activities first-hand and that it was incredibly useful to directly hear about the conditions on the frontlines. Through opportunities like these, we will continue working to contribute to innovation and industry development moving forward.
