Chugai Life Science Park Yokohama Receives the MLIT Minister’s Award in the Business Activity Category at the 45th Green City Award

Chugai Life Science Park Yokohama, a research hub of Chugai, received the MLIT Minister’s Award in the Business Activity Category at the 45th Green City Award during the 8th “Midori no ‘Wa’ Exchange Gathering” – Urban Greenery Three Awards Ceremony, held on December 15, 2025.

The research facility was designed and constructed with an emphasis on incorporating abundant greenery, primarily composed of native plant species, with the aim of achieving harmony between nature and the local community, coexistence with the environment, and the development of an ecological network connecting the surrounding areas. Within the approximately 300-meter-long green corridor, a publicly accessible promenade has been established, which is used by local residents for walking and relaxation, as well as by nonprofit organizations for environmental education programs and related activities.

To pass on our irreplaceable planet to future generations, Chugai will continue to promote initiatives that enhance biodiversity conservation.

The Green City Award

Established in 1981 by the Organization for Urban Green Infrastructure, the Green City Award recognizes outstanding achievements in the conservation and creation of greenery by civic groups, companies, and public organizations, with the aim of building greener, more sustainable cities and communities for the future.
