1. Basic Policy on the Prevention of Harassment in Recruitment Activities
Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (“Chugai”) recognizes respect for human rights as a fundamental principle of its corporate activities.
In our recruitment activities, we respect the dignity and individuality of all applicants and believe it is an important responsibility as a company to provide an environment in which they can engage in job-search activities with confidence and peace of mind.
Chugai does not tolerate any form of harassment toward applicants and other participants, including in situations related to recruitment activities, internship programs, and visits with current employees or alumni (OB/OG visits).
Applicants, etc.: Applicants and other individuals who participate in activities conducted by Chugai to support the recruitment of employees (including interviews, career events, and visits with Chugai employees), as well as internship programs and related activities.
2. Our Basic Approach to Recruitment Activities
In all interactions with applicants and other participants, Chugai conducts recruitment activities in accordance with the following principles:
- We will be considerate of the position and circumstances of job applicants and will not engage in intimidating or one-sided conduct.
- We will not engage in conduct that deviates from the purpose of recruitment activities nor place any psychological burden on job applicants or other parties.
- We will not suggest any influence on recruitment decisions or selection results, nor use such suggestions to request inappropriate conduct.
3. Chugai’s specific initiatives
(1)Clarification of Rules regarding Recruitment Activities
- When meeting individually with job applicants, we will schedule meetings during daytime hours and conduct them at company facilities, public venues, or other environments where third parties are present, or online.
- As a general rule, Chugai does not hold meals or social gatherings involving alcohol with job applicants prior to employment, including during job-search activities, internship programs, or OB/OG visits.
- All communications will be conducted using company-issued devices, and personal devices will not be used for contact.
(2)Awareness and Training for Employees Involved in Recruitment Activities
- Chugai provides awareness and training on the prevention of recruitment harassment to employees involved in recruitment activities, such as those participating in interviews and internship programs.
