Support for Noto Peninsula Earthquake Disaster Area Based on Ishikawa Creative Reconstruction Plan

We express our heartfelt sympathy to all those affected by the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake and the subsequent record-breaking heavy rainfall.

TOKYO, December 10, 2024 -- Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (TOKYO: 4519) announced today that it decided a financial donation in the disaster area where extensive damage occurred due to the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake and subsequent record-breaking heavy rainfall. In January of this year, Chugai provided a relief effort of 10 million yen through the Ishikawa Prefecture Corporate Version of Hometown Tax for the damages caused by the Noto Peninsula Earthquake. Recognizing the need for long-term and continuous support for the reconstruction of the disaster area, including the damage from heavy rainfall, Chugai has decided to donate 100 million yen to support the activities of the “Noto Public-Private Partnership Reconstruction Center,” which is part of the Ishikawa Prefecture’s Creative Reconstruction Plan.

We sincerely hope that the community-led activities towards the creative reconstruction of the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa, under the slogan “Noto, the future of country,” will bear fruit and lead to the reconstruction and further development of the disaster-stricken area.
