Donation of 'Roche Children's Walk 2025' funds to “The Nippon Foundation”

The Chugai Group participated again this year in the Roche Group's charity event, 'Roche Children's Walk', in 2025.

This event began in 2003 to coincide with World AIDS Day, marks its 22nd year in 2025.
The event is conducted using a matching gift method where the company donates an amount equal to employee donations. A total of 233 employees took part in 2025, raising JPY 791,920, which the company matched in full, bringing the total donation to JPY 1,583,840.

This year, following our first company-wide employee vote, we split our donation equally between The Nippon Foundation’s ‘Supporting Seriously Ill Children’ program and the Roche Employee Action and Charity Trust (Re&Act), through which the funds will support child-focused projects in more than 75 countries and regions worldwide, covering areas such as education, nutrition, basic healthcare, and social development.

At the Nippon Foundation’s ‘Supporting Seriously Ill Children’ initiative, the Fund recognizes the pressing challenges faced by approximately 120,000 children nationwide who are battling pediatric cancer or other serious illnesses, as well as roughly 20,000 children who require medical care such as ventilator support—challenges compounded by the heavy burden and social isolation often experienced by the families who care for them around the clock. To help build a society in which children with severe illnesses and their families can live safely and free from isolation within their communities, the Fund is establishing 33 support hubs that connect medical, welfare, and educational institutions, while also offering special opportunities such as family trips and social events.
