Donation of 'Roche Children's Walk 2024' funds to Social Welfare Corporation Hokushin Fukushikai Asunaro Gakuen

The Chugai Pharmaceutical Group participated again this year in the Roche Group's charity event 'Roche Children's Walk.'
This event, which began in 2003 to coincide with World AIDS Day, marks its 21st year this year.
Until last year, donations were made in cash, but from this year, we have transitioned to a web-based donation system.
The event is conducted using a matching gift method where the company donates an amount equal to employee donations. In 2024, there were 274 donors, with donations from employees and the company amounting to 847,827 yen each, for a total of 1,695,654 yen.
This year, half of the donations will go to Social Welfare Corporation Hokushin Fukushikai Asunaro Gakuen, and the other half will be donated through the Roche Employee Action and Charity Trust (Re&Act) to global children's projects related to education, nutrition, basic healthcare, and social development in more than 75 countries and regions.
Social Welfare Corporation Hokushin Fukushikai Asunaro Gakuen is a child care institution established in 1983. Located in Anamizu Town, Hosu District, Ishikawa Prefecture, it aims for children who have difficulty being raised by their families to live together with staff in rich nature, thinking together and recognizing each other's strengths.
Due to the Noto Peninsula earthquake in January 2024, 'Asunaro Gakuen Main Facility' suffered severe damage to gas, water, and sewage pipes in the kitchen, while 'Ayumi,' a branch facility, experienced ceiling collapses and other significant damage. Facility repairs began in October, but they have been forced to endure inconveniences such as cooking with propane gas.
This donation is intended to be used for replacing home appliances.
