Special Co-Sponsorship and Employee Volunteer Participation in the 8th National Floor Volleyball TOKYO Tournament for the visually impaired

Chugai was a special sponsor of the 8th National Floor Volleyball TOKYO Tournament for the visually impaired held at the Esforta Arena Hachioji (Hachioji City, Tokyo) from August 20 (Tuesday) to 22 (Thursday), 2024.

 Floor volleyball is a sport designed to be enjoyed by both blind and low vision people with visual impairments and people without disabilities. The appeal of this sport lies in the variety of tactics created by team coordination and the spectacular speed of the game.

The 2024 tournament brought together teams from schools for the visually impaired that had won regional tournaments from all over the country. The passion of each team to reach the top clashed with each other, resulting in extremely powerful matches with intense movements and sounds.

Employee volunteers also participated in this tournament to update the scoreboard. Witnessing the heated matches up close, we were able to learn how interesting floor volleyball is as a sport and feel the passion of students from all over the country.

We will continue to support sports for the physically challenged, in which everyone, regardless of disability, can play an active role with vigor.
