Chugai Pharmaceutical implements a number of activities aiming to get the leaders of the next generation more interested in science and medicine.

Every year since 2020, company employees have served as part-time lecturers at Kumamoto University. Their lectures address “Pharmaceutical Information Management,” and their goal is to help nurture the next generation of pharmacists. The lecture held on January 17^th, 2023 introduced real-world examples of how to use a drug Risk Management Plan (RMP), and discussed the importance of drug information and the patient-centered efforts of pharmaceutical companies.

Amongst the 60 students participating in the lecture that day, Their impressions of the lecture included: “I learned that there is a gap between the information that medical professionals want to convey and what patients want to know,” and “It made me re-think what I can do as a pharmacist to ensure drug safety.”
