Chugai sponsored wheelchair softball experience events across Japan.

Chugai has concluded an official top partner agreement with Japan Wheelchair Softball Association (JWSA) and supported wheelchair softball events across Japan.

Wheelchair softball is a sport that can be enjoyed by everyone, regardless of age or disability, and the purpose of the event was to introduce the sport to as many people as possible and to expand the scope of the sport.

Period : July - December 2021
Venue : 8 locations throughout Japan (Hokkaido, Osaka, Shizuoka, Hiroshima, Saitama, Okinawa, Fukuoka, Tokushima)
Participants: Total 314 (non-disabled people: 235, people with disabilities: 79)

At each venue, people with disabilities and non-disabled people joined together to experience wheelchair softball. The participants' responses to the questionnaire after the event indicated a high level of satisfaction and that they were able to realize that anyone can enjoy the game by actually experiencing it together. Some of the districts also reported that the event had increased their motivation to form a team.

Chugai will continue to actively support sports for people with disabilities with the aim of realizing inclusive society in which people can play active roles regardless of with or without disabilities.
