Chugai co-sponsored “Handcycling for Families,” an event by ZEN Association.

The purpose of this event was to provide children with disabilities and their families with opportunities for outdoor activities that are difficult for them, and to promote the independence of these children. The event was held on October 2nd and 3rd at Inage Kaihin Park in Chiba Prefecture.
A total of 22 participants took part in the event, cycling around the park on handcycles while taking breaks to accommodate the younger elementary school participants.
Once they grew accustomed to handcycling, some children even tried cycling distances of 5 km one way, pushing themselves to reach their goal.

Participating children were able to experience the joy of traveling long distances on their own and experience the exhilaration of feeling the wind in their hair.

Chugai will continue to support the realization of a symbiotic, inclusive society, where new challenges are open to all.
