Biology Lab Classes to Show the Fun of Science 2019

Social Contribution Next Generation Development

As part of its social contribution activities, Chugai Pharmaceutical conducts various experimental classes with the aim of conveying the fun of science to the children who will lead the next generation.

On July 31, we held a biology lab class titled “What Are Genes? – Cell Observation and DNA Extraction” in cooperation with Life Bio Plaza21 and the Japan Science Foundation’s Science Museum. During the class, 20 elementary school pupils learned about living organisms through various experiments that included using microscopes to view cells, and extracting DNA using familiar ingredients. 6 students from Kanagawa Institute of Technology sat in on the class as table assistants, helping to foster an interest in science among today’s children.
