Roche's Announcement Regarding Vamikibart (1 Year Data in Uveitic Macular Edema)
TOKYO, October 13, 2026 -- Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (TOKYO: 4519) announced that Roche has issued a media release on October 10,regarding 1 year data from the Phase III MEERKAT and SANDCAT studies of vamikibart in uveitic macular edema (UME), presented at the American Academy of Ophthalmology 2026 Annual Meeting (AAO 2026).
According to the results presented, vamikibart demonstrated sustained improvements in vision and reductions in macular thickness through Week 52 across both studies. In addition, approximately two-thirds of patients who entered the as-needed dosing period after Week 16 required no retreatment, while the majority of those who required retreatment required only one additional injection. Vamikibart maintained a consistent safety profile through Week 52.
