TOKYO, July 26, 2021 -- Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (TOKYO: 4519) announced the following organizational and personnel changes, effective October 1, 2021, respectively.

Reorganization of Pharmaceutical Technology Div. and Chugai Pharma Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (CPMC)
Pharmaceutical Technology Div.
- Newly establish Analytical Development Dept. in Pharmaceutical Technology Div. by transferring the process development function from Chugai Pharma Manufacturing (CPMC), in order to enhance the quality design function corresponding to RED SHIFT.
Chugai Pharma Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (CPMC)
- Establish new organizations by consolidating the production technology, quality assurance, and digital engineering functions which have been distributed across Ukima, Fujieda and Utsunomiya.
[Overview]
The organizational change will be made to realize functional improvement, efficiency improvement by business consolidation, and governance enhancement as well as to develop highly specialized human resources, by reorganizing the highly specialized functions, which have been dispersed in the Pharmaceutical Technology Div. and the production subsidiary Chugai Pharma Manufacturing, into a cross-functional management system covering the three plants in Ukima, Fujieda, and Utsunomiya. The change aims to strengthen Chugai’s growth foundation and to contribute to RED SHIFT, toward the goals stated in Chugai’s new growth strategy, TOP I 2030.
