Organizational and Personnel Changes
TOKYO, April 24, 2018 - Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (TOKYO: 4519) announced today the following organizational and personnel changes, effective July 1, 2018.
【Details of Organizational Changes】
Enhancement of QA (Quality Assurance) function regarding quality compliance and pharmaceutical technology (PT) activities
“Enhancement of QA, QC (Quality Control) and regulatory functions” is one of the priority agenda items in the mid-term business plan “IBI 18.” Aiming to enhance QA functions, PT Quality Dept. will be newly established in Pharmaceutical Technology Div., and overall QA functions including those of Quality Assurance Dept. in Quality & Regulatory Compliance Unit will be reorganized.
Functions of PT Quality Dept.
- Technical Quality function to cultivate technical assessment for conducting product quality assessment based on technology and science
- Quality Excellence function to enhance and lead the acquisition, evaluation and implementation of the latest GMP* trend in order to accelerate global development and to maintain stable product supply
Function of Quality Assurance Dept.
- Secure validity of GMP quality system and make final decision of product quality considering market impact
* Good Manufacturing Practice (Standard practice and applicable regulations for manufacturing and quality control of pharmaceutical products and quasi-drugs)
