Position of Affiliated Companies within Chugai Pharmaceutical Business Activities

The Chugai Group is composed of Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (a subsidiary of Roche Pharmholding B.V.), 18 subsidiaries and one affiliated company. The position of applicable businesses of each company are outlined as follows.

Domestic Business

Manufacturing

Chugai Pharma Manufacturing Co., Ltd. is commissioned to manufacture pharmaceuticals.

Research

Chugai Research Institute for Medical Science, Inc. is commissioned to conduct a portion of the Company's research related to pharmaceuticals as well as carry out administrative duties in such areas as experimental animals and research facilities. Forerunner Pharma Research Co., Ltd. conducts drug-discovery research.

Development

Chugai Clinical Research Center Co., Ltd. is commissioned to conduct a portion of the Company's clinical development operations.

Chugai Business Support Co., Ltd. is contracted to perform administrative functions for Chugai while Chugai Distribution Co., Ltd. provides transportation and storage services and Medical Culture Inc. undertakes bibliographical surveys of pharmaceutical-related information for the Company.

Chugai Pharma Marketing Ltd. is responsible for sales administration of the Company's pharmaceuticals in Europe.

Sales activities in Germany are undertaken by Chugai Pharma Marketing Ltd., in the United Kingdom by Chugai Pharma U.K. Ltd. and in France by Chugai Pharma France S.A.S.
