
Chugai to Begin to Air the Corporate Ad on TV in November
October 28, 2005 (Tokyo) - Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. [Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President Osamu Nagayama (hereinafter, Chugai)] announced today that it would start nationally televised corporate advertisement, “And to the medical practice scenes…” edition, on November 1.
As a leading biopharmaceutical company in Japan specializing in prescription pharmaceutical business, Chugai has been deploying proactive initiatives in and outside Japan. Having its Mission “to dedicate itself to adding exceptional value through the creation of innovative medical products and services for the benefit of the medical community and human health around the world,” Chugai has been working to discover new drugs, especially focusing on three key therapeutic areas: “oncology,” “renal” and “bones and joints.” In this new corporate advertisement, aiming to most precisely depict these aspects of Chugai, the company’s initiatives contributing to the cutting edge healthcare are visualized as its image representation together with the message -“wishing to expand each patient’s treatment options and to eliminate fear and worries associated with cancer”- using “ONCOLOGY (a science to study cancer)” as the keyword.
By making letter “C”s in those words appearing one after another in the commercial film, “ONCOLOGY (a science to study cancer)”, “BIOTECHNOLOGY (bioengineering and biopharmaceuticals)”, “SPECIALIST (professionals/ oncology-focused MRs)” and “CONQUEST (toward conquest of cancer)” all correspond to “CHUGAI”, the company’s approach questing for the “Patient-oriented Healthcare” is depicted.

Music used in the commercial film was arranged to imply advanced yet humane image based on “Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring” by Johann Sebastian Bach. By arranging a classical piece, the music is finished with a new sensation despite known to all.
